I get the impression from Infineon and Keil that although the XC167 is supported (alive), it's not quite ready for prime time. Infineon's DaVE doesn't seem to include it in its device profile. I was wondering if anyone was using this CPU and what troubles they ran into trying to utilize its unique capabilities.
The problem is not with DAvE. The DIP is not yet available at the official web page for the DAvE. I have the DIP-file for XC167 and worked with the starter board too. I found no more or less problems than with the other V2 machines. Unfortunately the XC167 DIP is about 10,2 MB so I am not able to mail because I have a limit of 8 MB. If you have any idea and if your are interested in I can try to mail it to you. Stefan
Thank you Stefan. After thoroughly reviewing the tools, CAN stack, and the pin compatibilites between the 167cr and the new xc167, we decided the best thing to do is to wait until we run out of horse power with the 167CR. Perhaps by then there will be an additional upgrade option like a faster 167cr that won't require us to do a massive port pin realignment. I would like the DIP file simply for reference but I can wait until it's more convenient for you or until we can find a common downloadable fpt or something. Marty
Hi Marty, thanks for you feedback. At your point of view you are right. Pin compatibility is unfortunately not given. CAN stack may be too, I am not experienced this way. For I2C there is a new driver, CAN must be expand for the possibilities of TwinCAN module. Actually I test a beta for the XC16x LIN low level driver. ( Port to KEIL IDE is done, but hardware test is a "TO DO" ). For migration there is a good document available, but I guess you have it read too.
Hello Stefan! I'm just writing my Diplomarbeit with a XC167. Could you mail me the DIP file for the XC167? Or where could I get the file? This would speed up my software development phase a lot!!! Thanks!!! Martin P.S. mailing is possible if you use winrar wich allows variable file sizes...
Hi Martin, this would not be a problem, but we have restriction of 8 MByte for e-mail. With WinZip I can compress the file only minimal at 10 MByte. Unfortunately the DIP-is not official available. So what we can do ? Stefan
Hi Stefan, can you download Winrar and install it on you PC??? (http://www.winrar.de) It's Freeware like WinZip... Then you can create a RAR archiv with 2 or 3 MB. Small enough for mailing. Would you write a direkt email to me??? winker at fh-konstanz dot de??? We could solve that direktly, not in the forum. Thanks!!! Martin
Hi Martin, done ! Check your account. Stefan
Is there any chance you could mail me the XC167DIP as well please? Many thanks Bruce
Hi Bruce, there is no problem to mail it. Please leave your mail account here and I will send it in 3 mails as RAR - archives. Best regards Stefan
That would be very helpful. My email is bruce@osukl.com Cheers Bruce
Hi Bruce, have it done. Please check your account. Stefan
Stefan, would you mind emailing me the XC167 DIP file, too, please !? I am now migrating a project from the XC161 for which there is the official DIP available to an XC167 device instead. My email is jan@gcsltd.co.uk. Thanks a million ! Regards, J.
Hi Jan, the first part is done. Please check your account and be sure for enough space at your account. Stefan
Dear Sir, please do mail me the dip file for DAVE to correctly support XC167. Thank you very much! Yours sincerely, Oliver Debus Oliver.Debus@jostra.net
The DAvE support for XC167 is available at: http://www.infineon.com/dave. Look under "Get Dave" or http://www.infineon.com/cgi/ecrm.dll/ecrm/scripts/promotion_downloads.jsp?oid=29504 You may also take a look to: http://www.keil.com/appnotes/docs/apnt_182.asp This Application Note explains how to use DAvE together with uVision3.
Thanks to support team. The DIP's in latest versions are available now, including that for XC167. I got the information, that the bugs and mistakes from formerly versions (like I2C) are fixed now. Best regards Stefan
