What arm64-based affordable boards are there, and where they can be bought?
I'm asking for a friend, and he's probably after something to run Linux/Unix on.
There has been discussions about Juno-boards, but I couldn't figure out where they can be bought and what's the price.
Hi turbo,
you can look at for this :https://www.96boards.org/products/ce/hikey/
I don't know exactly if they finished the release of this board
Also the SnapDragon-board seems affordable, but how about the Juno? I understand that you can get those with Cortex A53 and A57? Just couldn't find the prices or ways to get one.
hi,
May look at this :
DRAGONBOARD 410C - Arrow Development Tools, Embedded System Development Boards and Kits. Order from Arrow Electronics.
That's the snapdragon-board I was referring to. It's just that it doesn't support a network cable. Only WiFi.
The Juno is probably for big companies only that negotiate about bigger deals?
Otherwise there would be directions where to get them and with which price.
@turboscrew, just curious; what's the embedded end-application that requires 64-bit ARMv8 processing?
You could add a simple USB-->Ethernet dongle to one of the two USB2.0 ports that come on the 96boards
spec 410c for wired-LAN connectivity. Not sure if there are mezzanine cards that interface to the high-speed
connector on the board to provide you additional functionality.
Alternatively, if you're looking for a low-cost but high performance 32-bit ARMv7 board, the Snapdragon 600
based Inforce 6410Plus may fit the bill. It costs only $149, includes a starter kit and comes with a full range of
connectivity options. You have a choice of either an Android or Linaro Linux BSP.
cheers,
Vasu
The computing power in not the point here. The architecture is.
To my understanding my friend has written some new stuff for FreeBSD and he is after a 64-bit ARM for testing.
I think this time some networking enhancements.
(He sometimes participates in the FreeBSD development.)
turbo i will pleased to meet him
Jerome, are you involved with FreeBSD too?
I won't put my friend's name here, but it is found here: 8. Additional FreeBSD Contributors
