I didn't get a chance to participate in the ARM Community Step Challenge at Mobile World Congress, alas. ( ARM Step Challenge: “Who is the ‘hardest working’ at MWC?”) But I'm pumped beyond reason to be able to do so at the 51st Design Automation Conference in June in San Francisco. I think it's an excellent way to spark conversation around wearables, IoT, embedded technology and the design and verification challenges that abound in these types of consumer applications. And what a fun way to connect ARM partners!

I'm really looking forward to it.


But now comes johnheinlein who sees competitive gold in those San Francisco hills. We are engaged in a Twitter battle (@johnheinleinarm and @bfuller9) over which of us will perform better. John is a worthy competitor, but I think it's important to offer some advice before things get serious June 1:

    Oh yes... most definitely yes. Especially once the dancing begins... those videos may just go viral.

    Packed house? Not on the dance floor, baby!  500 steps per song means you lose while you are mid-martini!

    Brian, will Cadence be sharing updates of yours and John's status throughout the Denali party so all party goers will know the challenge is going?

    What happens at the Cadence Denali party doesn't stay at the Cadence Denali party; it actually will linger well after they turn out the lights. A packed house ensures virtually no movement whatsoever, even for a man as clever as you, John. This is one of several surprises in store for you next week, my friend (BTW, did you get the tickets I sent you for the 6-hour Bay ferry tour on Monday?).

    Who knew that the benefit of the Denali party was physical exercise?  That's not what comes to mind for me.

    BTW, Brian, I will warn you; based on the time of the emails I get from John, he doesn't sleep much!
