I asked the ARM-Keil educational department how to use the MDK Community edition (or equivalent) in a classroom. I didn't get a response yet (after a few days).
I am the instructor of a microcontroller related course (Cortex-M) and I trained myself at home using the MDK Community edition with an individual license obtained through this forum. The textbooks I'm using provide training material based on the MDK Community as well, including the installation/licensing instructions, but nothing on how to set this up in a classroom of 10...15 students.
Is it possible to set up the MDK Community edition for education in the classroom based on a group (user-based) or floating license? What do I need to do to get an answer to this question and obtain the necessary support?Thank you.
I'm unsure who you reached out to before.
Arm does offer a program for supporting university classrooms:https://www.arm.com/resources/education/education-kits/software-form
It may be best to request via this form, even if you do not need all the features offered. It will at least reach the appropriate audience.
I looked briefly at the form - it seems overkill compared with MDK Community, but apparently, there is no option to ask just for the MDK. I guess I'll ask for the package and use what I need. I can only hope that MDK Full and MDK Community will behave the same way and work with the examples already at hand. Thank you kindly.
That should be fine.
Community is a subset of the full functionality, so if it works in Community it should just work in Professional.
