Hello,
we just copied a Batch from an older project using KSPAWN.EXE and we do not understand what the program KSPAWN.EXE exactly does?
We could not find any documentation about that program and there is also no command line help...
Does anybody know where to find a documentation for this program and its parameters?

And why do you think you need to know?
Because you should always know what you are doing :-)?
Your answer is not very helpful.
Our Batch executes the following line: "C:\Keil\UV4\KSPAWN.EXE" ..\CRC\crc.exe -i obj\hexfile.hex -o obj\hexfile_crc.hex -e 1bfe -d
The point is: That also works if you remove the leading "C:\Keil\UV3\KSPAWN.EXE".
Therefore we are wondering if KSPAWN.EXE is needed, respectively what is the advantage of using it here?
In short words: What does KSPAWN.EXE? Is there any documentation about that program?
Best regards

Good sentiment. Knowing what tools are available is always beneficial in deciding what tool is appropriate for a job.
But:
Since the program is supplied as part of the IDE, it is likely that it is normally used by the IDE - Possibly to help with capture of redirected application output??? Maybe there are no details available because it is not supposed to be used outside of that package.
Hello and thx for your reply.

Good point!
That's exactly what I assumed too. But I hoped that someone here knows exactly what this program does and could confirm the theory :-).
Unfortunately nobody here knows the reason why the program was used in that older project of us and I feared that there was maybe a good reason for this.
Thx and best regards
