FTP-Client and/or SMB/CIFS

Our device shall store data on a remote server.

I read that the TCP/IP suite of the MDK-ARM supports FTP/TFTP server functionality but what about FTP/TFTP client functionality. Is this supported, too?

For a Linux-based product, we used Samba and the smbmount utility to connect to a remote share. Would it be possible to run CIFS/SMB on top of the MDK-ARM TCP/IP stack or is the stack too "lightweight"?
