I have downloaded versions: v2.2.0 v2.2.1 v2.2.3 of the Philips Flash utility for programming via serial. In the two first versions no support for lpc2148 is provided. In the last version (v2.2.3) this chip has been added to the program options list, but [due to a bug in the program] I can not select it from the list, then I think I need version (v2.2.2) of this program as used in the help page: http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/mcb2140/mcb2140_fp_using_lpc2000.htm BUT I WAS UNABLE TO EVEN FIND IT ON THE PHILIPS WEB SITE. Does anyone know a link to download the specific version 2.2.2 of this program? Thanks.
I don't have a link for 2.2.2 (and didn't know it even existed), but 2.2.1 downloads to the MCB2140's micro if you select LPC2138 from the device list.
Dear Benjamin Visocky, I am very happy to see a reply for my question at last. I tried to use the version 2.2.1 that you said and selected LPC2138 and tried to communicate with the device, but when I press any of the functional buttons (Blank check, erase, upload,...), it says that cannot communicate to the test board or it gives simillar error messages about being unable to communicate. Of course it tries to do something and some of the LEDs on the board blink (negotiating an uncomplete communication perhaps) but It leads to an error message. I also tried to use some different baud rates for communication. again thank you for the suggestion, I will keep trying on different options and settings, may be it will work someway for me.
Well, here's a question: What kind of serial cable do you have between the PC and the MCB2140? I tried using a USB-to-RS-232 conversion cable, and it gave me the "cannot communicate" error every time. When I finally found a plain-old RS-232 cable hooked up to my PC's only plain-old serial connector, it finally worked just fine. As far as I can remember, it worked well at 38400 baud, but I haven't tried in a while (since I got a $300 ULINK from my distributor).
Well I Also Use a RS-232 DB-9 Straight Cable with COM1 port on my PC.
Hi You can run flash utility V2.2.3 from the command line. This the .bat file that i am using: START c:\windows\desktop\lpc210~1.exe "a.hex" 10000 LPC2103/2/1 COM1: 19200 1 And the bug with the Device: combo box is fixed :)
Hi Valentin,
Great, the *.bat works!
Could you share me the full parameter list of command line, I'd like to use it to Read Device ID, Blank Check, Erase, Upload to Flash, Compare Flash, Manual Reset, specify filename, etc.
Note that you're replying to a 15 year old thread.
Also note that the reference is to a Philips (now NXP) utility - so nothing to do with Keil or ARM.
You'd probably be better contacting NXP for support ...
