Parametric Search Capability

We have added a parametric search capability for the Device Database. Parametric searches help you locate a chip (or chips) with a particular set of features or requirements (like A/D, D/A, I/O, RAM, ROM, and so on).

Take a look and let us know what you think.

P.S. Since we now support around 550 devices, the search should return a wide variety of devices.

  • "back to the original problem of how many UARTs, A/Ds, D/As, and so on should be listed."

Yes, that is indeed a problem!

The E520 has 2048 CSL "Cells", and a full UART can be imlpemented in anything from 152 to 360 Cells (depending on whether you also want FIFOs, modem-control, etc, etc)

So that's a max limit of 5-13 full UARTs - but then you wouldn't be able to add any other "soft" peripherals!

And programmable logic means you can do things like only have "half" a UART if you only need to receive or transmit, but not both...
