Hello.
Currently, our company is using DS-5 streamline to optimize algorithm running on T764 Mali based device. And we can now only gather the CPU, memory and other debugging information, but can not get to the GPU data. Counter selector which is not related to the counter about Mali GPU. Online there is a saying that the Mali driver does not supported by the streamline debugging?
Please, any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi David Zhang,
In order to get Mali information into streamline, you first need to enable the Kernel side driver to enable streamline (gator) support. Then you need to rebuild gator to enable Mali support.
Here are a few how to guides you can use as a reference on how to do this.
Please note that this will be SoC/Device dependant, so please do not just follow these instructions blindly.
Using DS-5 Streamline with Mali on Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Using DS-5 Streamline with Mali on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 & 10.1
Using DS-5 Streamline with Mali on Google Nexus 10
The Note 4 has the closest matching GPU - It too is a Mali-T760 but an MP6 configuration. I do not expect this to matter however. All of the above documents are based off of Samsung SoC's so if your target is a different Silicon Manufacturer, then this again may lead to a mismatch in the above instructions.
If you need any further help, please let us know.
Kind Regards,
