Dear group,
As far as I know, ARM Mali graphics stack has availability only on Linux and Android.
If I want to use it for non Linux OS, what is the solution ?
Does ARM has any standard solution in this scenario ? Did any one had this problem ?
Does ARM Mali (400) Graphics stack has any Hypervisor support ? like XEN ?
Please share me if any information available in this line.
Thanks,
Ravinder Are
Dear Michael,
Was in the past, DDK ported for any other OS like VxWorks/QNX/FreeRTOS etc.
is there any product that using ARM MALI400 in their chipset with non-linux OS platform in the market , now or past ?
If there is such use case comes for you, what do you suggest ?
Do you have any solution for that ? like AMP / Hypervisor ?
Please provide your inputs.
Hi Ravinder,
In the past, we also supported other OS's such as Symbian and WindowsCE, however those OS's are no longer in use and as such are deprecated in our Driver and we no longer support them.
As far as I am aware, our Driver does not directly support those OS's you have mentioned. It may be that the partner who licensed Mali, ported our Driver to run on those OS's, however that is not something we did.
I am also unaware of any non Android/Linux/Tizen/ChromeOS/FirefoxOS etc based devices with a Mali GPU inside, they may exist, but I have not heard of them. I will continue to ask questions internally to see if anyone knows of any.
Regarding Virtualisation support, currently none of our GPU's support this. I am unaware if it has been requested before or not.
In short, if any feature is requested to us by a licensee, then I imagine we will investigate and communicate with the partner our plans and likelihood of adding said feature in an existing or future product.
If you are a licensee, you should contact your ARM representative to ask these kind of questions, so the right person can then answer your questions in detail and discuss things further.
Kind Regards,
Michael McGeagh
