Do the 'Mali T6xx GPU User Space Drivers' (r3p0-02rel0 version) support Mali-T628?

Hey!

Will the current OpenCL drivers from ARM work on any GPUs newer that Mali-T604?

If yes, will the drivers work on the Arndale Octa Board (Exynos 5420)?

If no, when will they become available?

  • Hi tournesol,

The userspace components are build targeting a specific GPU, so probably would not work for T628. We haven't yet committed to releasing userspace components for the Arndale Octa.

EDIT: To clear up some confusion, the Arndale Octa is a product from Insignal not ARM. ARM released Linux Mali drivers for the Chromebook to meet developer needs as these drivers were not released by the device/silicon manufacturer, as ChromeOS was understandably the supported platform by them. We haven't committed to releasing drivers for the Arndale Octa, as Insignal (as a developer board manufacturer) would likely release the drivers themselves to end developers, so we don't expect to have to release any directly.

    Thanks,

    Chris
