I had a topic question on the old forum which shown an issue with the Mali-T6xx driver being terribly slow with both glBufferSubData and glMapBufferRange with the unsync bit set.
I was wondering if there has been any information on if the situation has improved on your end. I've followed the guide here for installing a Unix system on my Chromebook with the latest drivers you provide to the public and the issue is still there.
Any way to get an update on if its fixed and just pending an update somewhere?
I would like to apologise to all who are still waiting on the public release of r4p0 for Chromebook devices.
We have unfortunately been tied up with other BSP releases for partners, and have not had sufficient time to finalize testing and release.
I wanted to let you all know that we have resumed activity on this and are looking to release this imminently. Current plans look like this will happen in the next few weeks.
We will endeavor to not let this slip next time for the next release.
Once again, many apologies for the delay.
Kind Regards,
Michael McGeagh
I am pleased to announce that we have now published newer userspace drivers and documentation for the Chromebook.
Mali T6xx GPU User Space Drivers « Mali Developer Center Mali Developer Center
Graphics and Compute Development on Samsung Chromebook « Mali Developer Center Mali Developer Center
This uses the r4p0-02rel0 version of the Driver.
It has been tested and known to work on the original Samsung Chromebook Series 3.
Once again, I would like to apologise for the delay in getting this released publicly.
