Offline compiler issues

We've been running into issues using the offline compiler on Eclipse 3.7.1. The OpenGLES Emulator version 1.3 is installed, as is the Mali GPU Offline Shader Compiler v2.2. The offline compiler is set and enabled within the 'compiler' settings of 'Mali GPU Shader Development Studio', but the syntax checking never occurs. Forcing an error into a fragment results only in rendering not working, no details in "Problems" or any highlights within the code segment as described in the installation notes.
Any suggestions as to what else to try / look for would be appreciated.
