Hi,
Just wanted to ask whether the kernel image compiled from the LSK will have driver level support for Mali on Juno board? Guess the default kernel binaries that comes along with Juno has support for Mali.
What are user space Mali drivers? Will they be available if I buy the Juno board ?
Please reply ASAP.
Hi kadavul,
This question may be better asked in the ARM Development Platforms.
I will let others reply if they know specifics regarding this, but please remember this is still in active development.
Thanks,
Michael McGeagh
Oh..Do u mean only the pre built kernel images have driver support for Mali and the ones compiled from the source code doesn't ?
Can u please give a rough time when it will be available public?
hello Kadavul,
The Mali driver stack includes not just a kernel module, but also userspace library components.
For Juno customers we don't distribute these components separately. They are supplied as an pre-integrated part of the Linaro Android image for Juno.
So we enable you to use Mali with open GL in your applications on Juno under Linaro's Android.
But, not to (easily) do this with other kernels/filesystems.
Note that it's *only* the Android image which actually includes UI support for Juno.
If you are a Mali DDK licensee you would obviously have other options and a greater entitlement to support. If that's the case I'd encourage you to use: support@arm.com to discuss this.
As Michael says, please post Juno queries into Juno ARM Development Platform on Connected Community,
Hope that helps

Just to confirm, Mali supports Open GL ES, not Open GL.
