Clang is adpoted by ARM

Hi,

   ARM Compiler 6 is based on LLVM and uses Clang as a front end. Although you can use GNU GCC to compile code for ARM platforms, ARM Compiler 5 is based on a proprietary code base and it has never been based on GNU GCC.

Using ARM Compiler 6 has many advantages, a few keypoints are:

• Support for ARMv8 architecture
• Early support for new C++ language features (Clang - C++1z, C++14, C++11 and C++98 Status)
• Better diagnostic/error messages (Comparison of errors, warnings and diagnostics in ARM Compiler 6)
• Link Time Optimization (ARM Information Center)
• Faster build time
