There was so much I wanted to share about my one day at Maker Faire that I needed to write two blogs. My first thoughts are in My First Maker Faire: Engineers and Kids at Play.
While my son played on an iPad, I joined Massimo Banzi’s presentation on the status of Arduino. Massimo’s reputation precedes him and he’s as passionate and insightful as everyone says.
Massimo spoke with excitement about the new Arduino Zero. He highlighted that this board is the first with a built-in debugger and how all of the ARM-based platforms will be upgraded in the future to include this capability. It’s continuing Arduino’s mission to make it even easier for first-time developers to begin programming. For further details and to hear Massimo's passion, watch the video above.
Massimo brought Reza Kazerounian of Microchip on stage and he described that the Arduino Zero was designed in less than three months in close collaboration with Atmel’s engineers. Then Massimo brought ARM's CEO Simon Segars on stage to share his thoughts on the new board. As Simon shared in the video below, the expansion of Arduino-based from the Cortex-M0+ to the Cortex-M3 (Arduino Due with Atmel’s core) to the Cortex-A8 (Arduino Tre with Texas Instruments' core in collaboration with BeagleBoard) offers developers boards to meet their needs.
For a detailed interview on what’s inside the Arduino Zero, watch Bob Martin’s interview below with Hack A Day.
If you’d like to read more about the event and the Arduino Zero, you can read aeieland’s blog: The Arduino Zero, not only for hobbyists and Atmel’s blog: Arduino Zero takes center stage at Maker Faire.
Best of luck on all of your Arduino creating!

Excellent videos, thank you for sharing!
I recognized the logo of Hack a Day website. They highlight different projects everyday and I find most very interesting: Hackaday — Fresh hacks every day
