I have recently purchased the SocKit development platform from terasic and am trying to get the DS-5 community edition environment up and running. I have got the activation code from the community site and when I attempt to login it fails with:
"Unable to login. Check email address and password are correct"
I am able to login from the Welcone to DS-5 screen so I know its not an issue with the network or proxy, etc. Also I know my login details work as they work when I sign in from the welcome screen.
Any ideas? I have just spent £200 on the SocKit board so am a bit disappointed I can't make any progress with this right now. Diagnostic info is below:

Scott

Hi Scott,
I'll track down the right folk to have a look at your diagnostic info.
In the mean time, have you tried to license DS-5 through the license manager? I notice that in your diagnostic info it says "Selected toolkit: none", so it might be worth double checking that you have selected the right version from the dropdown list in the DS-5 license manager.
Then grab the activation code from the Altera section of the ds.arm.com website: Altera / Altera Community Edition | ARM Development Studio 5
See if that works, let me know if you have any success!
Thanks,
Joe
Hi,I don't have an option for selecting a toolkit. Does that mean I probably haven't downloaded the right version of the DS-5?Regards,
Did you install DS-5 as a complete bundle, or as a plugin to an already installed version of Eclipse?
Hi,
I basically installed the SoCEDSSetup-13.1.0.162 download from the altera website which went and installed DS-5 for me.
OK, I've just downloaded and installed the same package from the Altera website. The first time I opened it, it brought up a vanilla version of Eclipse which was odd, but it's working fine for me now. Once you start DS-5, you should see a welcome screen that looks like this:
If this is the case, then you should be able to get to the license manager through the help menu. If you don't see this then let me know.
By the way, thanks for your help so far. I get a slightly different splash screen:
and when I pull up the license manager I get:
I don't seem to be able to select a toolkit.
No problem, happy to help.
I've deleted my licenses to replicate what you have there. I then created a new account to test the system out - it seems to be working OK (once you've created the account it autopopulates the email and password fields):
You might want to test your login details on arm.com (login at the top right), bearing in mind that you have to activate your account if you have just set it up by following the link that will have been automatically sent to whatever email address you used.
If you're still having trouble, try setting up a new account with a different email address by following the "Don't have an account?" link in the license manager.
I am able to login to arm.com using the same account details so I guess I can try with a different email address.
Regards,Scott
Weird, it now works after creating a new account. Thanks again for your help.
You're welcome - have fun with the SoCKit.
