single clock edge operation in AMBA AHB?

i am relatively new in arm, can anyone explain what is single clock edge operation in AMBA AHB?

  • This just means that only the rising edge of the clock is used to transfer information from source to destination, as opposed to both rising and falling edges being used (as was seen in the old ASB protocol).

Synthesis tools and cell libraries tend to only support rising edge events, so AHB's use of only rising edges made it much more suitable to synthesis flows.
