Hi Experts,
Can I get some cheap development platforms based on ARM to test the Android - 5.0 Lollipop ?
I previously used Begale Bone Black for testing the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat.
Any suggestion on this !!
When you say Android development platform and mention the Beagle Bone, which aspect is more important to you? Do you just need an inexpensive platform to run Lollipop on for application development or do you want a dev board with exposed GPIO and expansion headers?
If just the former, have you considered the Moto G and E devices? Both run Lollipop and are very inexpensive on the 2nd hand market as are many of the Android One devices depending on where you live.
In the forums for the Odroid C1, there appear to be some 5.0.2 builds. Unfortunately, the C1 looks like it is sold out till August at the moment but for $35, it is an amazing platform.

There appear to be a number of community options for running 5.1 on the Raspberry Pi 2 though I have not personally verified any of them.

Let me know your specific development needs and I might be able to give you a better answer.
Cheers!
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for the reply.
I am looking for the commercial low cost development board like beagle bone to make few changes in the kernel/Middleware applications. Even though the GPIO expansions and headers not required I need some provisions like MMC based booting with BT and WiFi hardware.
Moto G and E I think you mean the actual phone where I need to flash the device and it wont as suitable for MMC based booting.
Also it would be great if something like Begale Bone where the community officially supported the KitKat OS.

DragonBoard™ 410c - 96Boards supplies are a bit tight at the moment but it says their available now. I'm still waiting on mine but it is probably your best option at the moment.
HiKey - 96Boards are available for pre-order. The next batch will likely ship this summer. I can probably thump some colleagues at Linaro to give theres up for emergent needs.
Sorry I don't have a better answer for you at the moment but I'll ask around a bit more. It appears that if you need a dev board with eMMC and Lollipop, beyond 96Boards, unofficial ports are likely the best solution if you absolutely need it today. It looks like someone has CM 12 running on an Odroid: http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=9316
I'm sure as soon as I post this answer, there will be a flood of DragonBoards.
Thanks Matthey. Great to know this stuff.
How about IMX series from Freescale ?
They also seems to support Android V5.
Interesting, I learned something new. Sorry I don't, yet, have expirience with their Dev Boards with L. I see the L BSPs; here: Android OS for i.MX Applications Processors|Freescale. The eval boards seem to be a bit pricey. Did you find one that met your needs on cost and version support? I'm game to get one and check it out.
The Freescale EVM looks ok whereas price is bit high to afford.
Also certain TI has some releases like omappedia.org/wiki/6AL.1.1_Release_Notes and Beagle Board x15 also supports it.
Wat do you think about this ?
