Side-by-side change display in the Source Control tab

Go to Source control tab, press 'M' next to a file. Get the side-by-side presentation but the green and red highlighting of changes is not there. Used to be there. Mysteriously gone.

Thanks for looking into that problem and providing a workaround. The red/green diff indicators are a great help!
