I have seen some confusing information posted regarding "ADuC debug" using the Accutron "Spear" and "Uspear" products.
Quick history to clarify:
======= 1. ACE ======= # the first single pin debugger from accutron. # connection to PC via the serial port. # Accutron Debugger: ACE # no longer sold. = = = = ======== 2. Spear ======== # The ACE was replaced by the "spear". # Added Support for single cycle devices ADuC84x family. # Low Cost. # connected again to the PC via serial port. # No longer sold due to European Lead free regulations. # uVision Driver: www.accutron.com/.../Keil-spear.zip
# Accutron Debugger: Aspire V1.x.x download www.accutron.com/.../Aspire_V1_0_7.zip = = = = ========= 3. USpear ========= # "Spear" was replaced by the current debugger "USpear", see " href= "www.accutron.com/.../USPEAR_Keil.zip">www.accutron.com/.../USPEAR_Keil.zip
# Accutron Debugger: Aspire V2.x.x download www.accutron.com/.../Aspire_V2_0_3.zip = = = =

"I have seen some confusing information posted ..."
Was there a Keil-related question hidden somewhere in your post?
"Was there a Keil-related question hidden somewhere in your post?"
Was there, in fact, any question at all hidden in the post?!
No, I would guess the post was for information only.
It is related to Keil products, though, because of the link to the emulator drivers for uVision.
Yes, I noticed the fact that Accutron has a uLink driver. But I failed to notice any question.
Hello,
This Post was not a question but a comment, and refers to the now closed thread:
http://www.keil.com/forum/docs/thread10090.asp
I would have posted these comment there, but am unable to post to that thread.
when beginning to use these tools with uVision i came across the above thread, I found this thread caused me a lot of confusion an impaired my work with uVision.
I wish to pass on my experience of the tools under uVision in an effort that users would not be lead down the same path, of mismatching drivers and hardware ...
thank you for your comments.
Jed...
"because of the link to the emulator drivers for uVision."
Such drivers are usually provided and supported by the 3rd-party - not by Keil.
But I failed to notice any question.
Well, the forum is for questions and comments related to Keil products. The original post looks like it's the latter.
...if you'd explained that in the first place - including the link to the old thread!
Oh well, now we know!
:-)
the information posted on http://www.keil.com/forum/docs/thread10090.asp
IS NOT CORRECT
Please note: this has been confirmed to me by the 3rd party vendor.
sorry about the confusion caused
Perhaps you could explain in what way(s) it is incorrect?
