I am thinking about upgrading to a ULink PRO. Is it faster downloading to Flash than the regular ULink2?
My main concern is: How long does the battery last on the ULINK PRO? In other words, what is the life expectancy of the ULINK PRO?
This is since the battery can not be replaced, and it seems the Ulink PRO dies when the battery is empty.
I heard it was fitted with an easy to replace PJ996, and it even has space to hold a spare.
It's easy to replace the battery. But (!!!) if you just replace the battery, the unit loses the battery-backed information and becomes a waste of space since it's too small for use as a bookend.
Note the explicit warning on this page: www.keil.com/.../ulinkpro_hardware.htm
In theory you can replace the battery if you do it before the voltage drops - but you need to solder in some wires with a suitable series resistor to an alternative power source while replacing the battery.
hi,
i try to dump the code from keil mdk version5 to stm32f429 controller through a ulink2 connector, but i get a error ,"SWD COMMUNICATION FAILURE",please inform me how to solve the problem.
connected ulink to stm32f429 controller
1.vcc 2.swclk(pull down registers are connected) 3.gnd 4.swdio(pull up registers are connected) 5.reset 6.swo
NOTE: i used only stm32f429 series controller ,not an evaluation board.
How does your problem relate to the battery time of the ULink Pro, and the problems changing battery???
>>please inform me how to solve the problem
It suggests the part is not powered or connected correctly.
The connectivity you have described doesn't really help diagnose the problem. Quite a significant number of pins need to be connected on the part, along with several capacitors on the internal regulator. Provide a schematic. Review the voltages on the VCAP1 and VCAP2 pins, and the state of the NRST pin.
Why no to create a new thread instead of interupting in someone else's post ?
Has anyone had to replace a battery, or had to return a UlinkPro for mysteriously stopping? - Keil mention it should last for the product 'lifetime', but do not mention what a 'lifetime' is.
