uVision - Project View

My source files are structured in multiple folders, some are in sub-folders. For example:
/Source_Files
/Source_Files/Algorithm1
/Source_Files/Algorithm1/Filter
/Source_Files/Algorithm1/Transform

I would like the Project view in uVision to reflect the directory structure.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that I can add a Group under another Group.

Has anyone tried to do something similar?

Thanks.

I don't think you can do that from the uV4 IDE. You know the group/file structure are just entries in the .uproj file in html format and the .dpt file. They are not really group folders, just html entries. Too bad the icons imply folders in the sense we have come to expect.

I have attempted to play with the .uproj file just to see if I could put a full path name in the file. I could for only one attempt and then the entries are overwritten. I never went further to see if I could circumvent the over write. I just went along with the way the tools are made.

Maybe this is the reason that Keil built the multiple workspace format. So you can build different workspaces with different groups and files. That is, a few different files and many common files in different workspaces.

IAR supports the multiple group folders and files within files within folders within files. Man what a pain to work with. INMHO!

I guess this is the reason that many Keil users prefer a different IDE. Look at the Notepad++.
This tool has a Project window that you can configure to your needs.
