Parameters  Definition  Description Weightage Examples
(Reference only)
Idea Domain-Sustainable development goals, Smart Mobility & AI at the Edge
Sustainable Development Goals: https://sdgs.un.org/goals
The idea should demonstrate the linkage to the Sustainable development  goals, Smart Mobility & AI at the Edge. Ref theme for Challenge:
•Good health & wellbeing
•Clean Energy
•Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure
•Sustainable Cities and Communities
•Smart Mobility
•AI at the Edge
0- Ideas does not demonstrate the linkage to themes defined for the challenge
1 to 2-The idea has attempted to create linkage to the theme
3 to 5-The idea has reasonably good linkage to the theme
6 to 8-The idea is clearly linked to the theme - demonstrates how the solution proposed is solving a key problem
9 to 10-The idea and the linkage to theme is clearly evident - demonstrates an excellent solution in  solving a key problem
2
Innovation Uniqueness or Improvement Over Existing Solution Your idea must be an innovation (improvement over existing) or inventive (something new) and be different than what exists.
0 - The idea does not seem to have any value
1 to 2 - The idea seems to be an improvement though not significant. The value addition may be minor towards user adoption.
3 to 5 - The idea enables seems to be an improvement that enables some valuable use cases that was not  practically feasible in the past – e.g. solution can run without needing battery replacement or power
6 to 8 - The idea enables a completely different use case that was not feasible in the past or is a substantial shift in cost of solution allowing much wider acceptance thereby opening new market.
9 to 10 - The idea is unique/ something new / inventive is identified
3
Deliver Value or Solves a problem Importance  of Problem Potential of the problem.
your idea must address a specific problem of your target audience. It must deliver value to your customer addressing their needs rather than their wants.
 It solves a problem.

0 -  Problem stated does not deliver value
1 to 2 - Problem stated is having a minor impact on society, environment
3 to 5 - Problem stated is having selective  impact on society, environment
6 to 8 - Problem stated will have a major impact on society, environment going forward. Problem impact is not widely visible
9 to 10 - Problem impact is worldwide. No Solution is available so far.
2 1 to 2 (Minor) - Making a remote control for water heater in place of manually changing the temperature.
3 to 5 (Selective) - Problem exist in Specific segment only, e.g  Industrial , Military , mining etc.
6 to 8 (Major) - High power consumption  of certain product to improve efficiency. Changing fan from ACIM to BLDC which is improving power efficiency.
9 to 10 (Worldwide) - Solar/Renewable Energy , Banking Security , People data Security  etc .
Completeness of  proposed solution The proposed idea could be a global solution. The solution  demonstrates  completeness, uses technologies that are future-relevant. The solution demonstrates a high potential to scale, in a way that is equitable, sustainable, and globally impactful.
0 - Solution is not solving the problem stated
1 to 2 - Solution addresses  the problem partially, may or may not have an impact on the problem statement.
3 to 5 -  Solution addresses  the problem in a selective way having a minor impact on the problem statement.   6 to 8 - Solution addresses  the problem in a major way and demonstrates an impact on the problem statement.
9 to 10 - Best possible solution. The solution is global and demonstrates completeness
2 1 to 2 : Improving the efficiency of the product by 2 or 3 percent
3 to 5 : Example1: Covid test kit taking few hours to Day , Accuracy is less than 70%.
or  Example 2: Ceiling FAN noise reduction , but not much improvement on the efficiency
6 to 8 : Good Solution - Eg : Covid test kit giving right results, but taking few mins to hours for processing the result
9 to 10 : Best Possible Solution: Covid test kit giving right results in few seconds with best accuracy.
Expression of idea Clarity of the idea proposed   The presentation of the idea should be communicated effectively, with clear understanding of the benefits
0- The pitch is not well prepared. Ideas are missing or are poorly communicated. Questions are poorly answered or not at all.
1 to 2 -The pitch is partially thought out and some ideas are communicated. Questions are answered reasonably well but may lack detail.
3 to 5-The pitch is presented reasonably well and the ideas are communicated. The benefits are unclear. Some questions are answered well.
6 to 8-The pitch is presented well and the ideas are communicated effectively. The benefits are reasonably clear. Most questions are answered well.
9 to 10-The pitch is presented with passion and energy and the ideas are communicated effectively. The benefits are clear. All questions are answered well.
