Apurva Varma, Regional Manager, Arm University Program, India, reports on the successful signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the AICTE with Arm to improve technical education in India.
The Arm University Program, India aims to plug the education and skills gap in electrical, electronic and computer engineering, computer science and beyond. It will help university faculty teach the latest technology from Arm and its ecosystem by the provision of education resources such as teaching materials and software tools for educational purposes.
Goals of the program in India include:
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), is a statutory body established by an act of Parliament (Act 52 of 1987) under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India for the purpose of planning, promotion and regulation of technical education system in the country.
AICTE signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Arm Embedded Technologies Pvt. Ltd on 28th August 2019. AICTE believes that the Arm University Program will help strengthen and improve the quality of technical education in India. It will also enable faculty members to build their technical knowledge and skills which will help students increase their employability, while promoting innovation.
The MoU was signed and exchanged by Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and Kuttappa Somaiah Bittiananda, Vice President, ISG Sales, India.
During the MoU Exchange, Dr Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman from the AICTE thanked Arm for coming forward to support technical institutes in India. He mentioned that the collaboration will enable faculty members to build their technical knowledge and skills which will help students increase their employability, while promoting innovation.
“Arm and AICTE share a vision of enriching the quality of technical education in India,” said Guru Ganesan, Managing Director and President, Arm India. “This collaboration will ensure faculty are equipped with all necessary materials for students across the country to learn about the latest evolving technology areas such as Advanced SoC Design, Embedded Systems Design and the Internet of Things.”
This is yet another great example of how the Arm University Program, India is harnessing key partnerships in order to help close the skills gap in electrical, electronic and computer engineering, computer science and beyond.
