Is there any need to divide one big nic400 into some small nic400?
For example, in a system there are 16 masters, m0~m15, and 16 slaves, s0~s15, and their clock domain are all SYNC(1:1 or n:1 or 1:n). Among them m0~m13 need to access s0, m14 need to access s0 and s1, and m15 need to access all the slaves. Is there any need to use a 14x1 nic400 to combin m0~m13 first, and then use a 3x16 nic400 for the 14x1 nic400, m14 and m15? Or just use a 16x16 to connect all the 16 masters and 16 slaves?
I would use just one big NIC-400.
Inside that NIC-400 you could connect the sources to destinations in any structure you want, using groups to link together interfaces with the same characteristics (data width or clock domain or protocol), and then allow the Socrates GUI to build a suitable interconnect structure.
