Hi,
We are exploring adoption of Cortex-R82 for our new products. Is Cortex-R82 model available in the latest Fast Models release? I don't see it in the CPU list in this page: Fast Models – Arm Developer. If not, when can it be available?
Thanks
-Oscar
In the Fast Model Reference manual coming with v11.16, I found this model: AEMv8RMPCT CPU. Can I use it to simulate R82?
The document has a comparison between AEMv8RMPCT model and Cortex R82 model, but I cannot find R82 model in the fast model portfolio. Is there going to be a dedicated R82 model?
There is a beta Fast Model for the Cortex-R82r0 (no MMU) but it is only distributed on demand currently. Contact support@arm.com if you would like access. The Cortex-R82r1 Fast Model has been delayed and won’t be available until sometime in 2022. The AEMv8RMPCT is a model of the v8-R architecture, for which Cortex-R82r0 and r1 are members, so yes, you can develop R82 compliant software using the architecture model. The AEMv8RMPCT model does include the MMU. I recommend getting in touch with our Support team (support@arm.com) if you are interested in using the AEMv8RMPCT model in place of Cortex-R82 CPU model in the near-term.
