Arm is excited to announce the release of Keil Studio Cloud, the first component of the next-generation Keil tool suite, which is now available in open beta. This early access beta will allow developers to experience the Keil Studio workflow first-hand with a limited set of supported development boards and features. The browser-based IDE provides a cloud-hosted platform with direct Git integration for enabling distributed teams, collaborative development and modern CI workflows for rapid IoT device development. Example projects are provided for common IoT cloud service providers, all of which can be built and even debugged in the browser.
You can log in to Keil Studio Cloud today using your Arm Account or create a new Arm Account if you don't have one already.
Keil.arm.com lists all the boards we currently support.
Keil Studio Cloud documentation is available on Arm's Developer site.
Please use these forums to ask any questions you have and to provide feedback on the IDE. Use the tag 'Keil Studio Cloud' in your post so we can make sure the right team members see them.
As a user of Keil tools for around 30 years (first 8051 and the last 20 years for ARM devices), I can not see myself using this I'm afraid. The few times I have tested the tools (on RT1064), it was not very effective (to say the least). The speed and ease of use is not doing it for me I'm afraid (and I'm on a 100 mbit/s fiber connection). Compared to the speed and "transparency" having it running locally on my PC (Keil IDE) it is lightyears behind.
I don't quite get all this "cloud based tool" hype (yes, I might be old and conservative, but why "fix" this tool situation when it is working perfectly fine without all this "cloud nonsense"...)
Thanks for the feedback Carsten. We definitely recognise the need for desktop tooling in addition to online and will be making announcements on these over the coming months. MDK/uVision are still fully supported! We've had a lot of feedback from developers who want easier connections to cloud-based tooling (CI, remote repos etc) so we think Keil Studio Cloud will work really well for these users. If you have time to provide more feedback through Keil Studio Cloud itself we'd love to hear it.
Will there be easy transfer between the Keil cloud and local MDK/uVision ?
I remember that it was possible to export mbed projects to desktop tools, but that was rather clunky and, I think, a one-way process?
What are the licensing arrangements?

Asking the important questions ^^^.
Sorry, I somehow missed Andy's question
The intention is for there to be a free version of Keil Studio Cloud in the long term. There will likely be other editions of Keil Studio that require a license (in the same way MDK does today) but these editions are not finalised yet.
To answer Andy's other question, yes, it is possible to export from Keil Studio to MDK/uVision and there will be the ability to go in the other direction too (that feature isn't live yet).
