Does the GPDSC require non-evaluation uVision version?

On Win-7, with uVision v5.14.0.0, the Windows Explorer does  recognise the .dpdsc file type:

and double-clicking does start uVision; and gives this:

So it seems this version of uVision can open the .dpdsc files.

So it seems that this feature has been broken or removed since uVision v5.14.0.0.

I very much doubt that the Windows version has anything to do with it at all.

You might want to raise a ticket with Microchip that their documentation needs to state specific Keil version compatibility.

Thanks for the investigation.

I'll  switch to the other non-Keil tool for SAMD. I like Keil for easy assess to the IROM/IRAMsettings but can do the same with *.ld files.

I submitted a ticket to Keil support and got the answer quickly:

"The file generated with 3rd party tools is not supported anymore in MDKv5.33
If you want then you can try the older versions"

Thanks for feedback - you need to mark that as the solution (unmark my previous guess).

Also, please report this to Microchip - as their documentation is now clearly wrong!

Frankly, you first suggested to use older version. Keil support only confirmed silent feature removal....
