Time for a serious Friday question!
Like the title says, is it like the boy's name "Kyle", or like the "Keel" on a boat?
I have always pronounced it "Kyle", but my colleagues disagree. Maybe somebody from KEIL can tell us.
It is German!
It is the name of the founders - who are German: en.wikipedia.org/.../Keil_(company)
www.youtube.com/watch
(and many more)
German! Yes! Great find!
If only someone could find similar hints for other words such as wiegand and weird!
Well done!
I think Weigand is another Proper Name? So you'd have to search its origins.
But weird is just a standard English adjective - plenty of sources for correct pronunciation
Maybe you could settle the argument for Neil and Niel?
Thank you. So I have been pronouncing KEIL correctly then.
As far as I'm concerned, "Niel" is a typo
;)
