Hello All,
I have been working with the LM3S8962 development board, TI, cortex M3. I am attempting to use the debugger to trace .elf files. (Is this possible with KEIL ?)
Initially, I used the JTAG interface suppoted by the ULINK PRO hardware device. I had plugged the debugger module into the DEV board. I wanted test the debugger with a test program. After having set up the hardware by powering it, the keil software throws me an error "Firmware outdated!".
I have also downloaded the keil update software (MDK420.exe), I obtained from the website.
However, when I try to install it, I face troubles.
"Cannot create destination file 'c:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Temp\KS1229.tmp\´ System error code: Invalid window handle. Retry ?
How to I proceed with the installation and get the debugger to work ?
Please give me your sugestions and help.
Awaiting your response.
Raman.
Firmware outdated doesn't mean that the Keil software is old. It just say that the Keil IDE knows that there exists a newer firmware for the uLink - did you allow a firmwire update of your uLink Pro?
I might be wrong, but do you have admin rights when you install the 4.20 software?

Hello,
Yes, I did have admin rights while installing the 4.20 update.
How to I permit firmware upgrade for Ulink ? Which option do I have to choose ? There was no specific menu dedicated to firmware upgrade.

I'm an end user like yourself - this is an end-user forum and not the official Keil helpdesk - so I don't have any absolute answers.
I belive I was queried if I wanted to upgrade my Ulink when I switched to a newer version uVision that found the Ulink firmware to be old.
Oh. Thanks a ton. :)
I will check the process again.
Also, where can I find the official ARM help desk ? (Is there any ?)
Thanks again.
There's a link marked 'Contact' at bottom-left of the page - the clue is in the name...
