Do any of you know of any type of high temperature microprocessors (200C)? The only thing that I have found is the Honeywell HT83C51. I would prefer a 16 bit or 32 bit but an 8 bitter is acceptable if we can program the device. The HT83C51 is mask only. We have googled and fired off emails to the most notable vendors with no immediate results ( 2 days). Any help is appreciated. Bradford
It could turn out that there is no reprogrammable memory technology for 200C. It appears that HT83C51 supports external program memory. You could use a PROM emulator for development, and a proper PROM for production, provided a suitable high-temperature PROM exists. Maybe, the fuse PROM type?
I recalled this and found it for you
by "high temperature" 51 micro processor -germ -pounds -cream
I guess that 'automotive' in a google search may find you something
anyjow here is what I recalled www.edn-europe.com/microdirectory.asp
Infineon Technologies, http://www.infineon.com This year, Infineon introduced a 16-bit, industrial DSC (digital-signal-controller) family and extended its automotive portfolio with a highperformance, 16-bit microcontroller family; a cost-effective, 32-bit microcontroller for power trains; and an 8-bit series for high-temperature environments. The XE166 DSC optimizes high-performance motor-control applications with an integrated MA C (multiply/accumulate) unit and supporting libraries and peripherals, including dual ADCs, user-configurable serial interfaces, and as many as 12 complementary pairs of PWM (pulse-width-modulation) I/Os for multiple motors. The XC2200 family of 16-bit microcontrollers fulfills all the key requirements for current and future automotive-body and gateway applications. The TC1764 is the newest member of Infineon’s family of 32-bit TriCore microcontrollers targeting automotive-electronics applications. The 8-bit XC866 Hot microcontrollers operate at temperatures as high as 1408°C.

Look for one of Texas Instruments DSC (Digital Signal Controller). The keyword is "TI HiRel". However a better way might be call them...
Thanks all for your rapid feedback. There is a high temp PROM and RAM we found today so the HT83C51 is still in the running. Thanks Erik. I saw the Infineon device and they did reply to my email query. The best they have at this time is 140C as you pointed out. Nikolay, I briefly looked at TI's DSP. I saw no high temp devices. I also sent their sales people an email query. I have not heard from them. I will again go to their confusing website to see if I can find additional information. Thanks again for all your feedbacks.
