I use a atmel's t89c51rd2 based terminal , i had a requirement of using the pstn line for data transfer to the server, the problem i am facing is that that rs 232 communication code does not seem to be communicating with the modem. i have heard that there is no handshake possible in these devices, hence the echo of the modem could be the problem.i have switched off the echo with the help of a pc. even then there seems to be little response from the modem.What other setting do i need to change in the modem or the device , for this to work.
