Problem to use wiggler to do OCDS with infineon XC16Board

Help! I am having problems getting the OCDS/JTAG connection to work with the infineon XC16Board using the wiggler (parallel port cable)

No matter what I do, I always get the message:
"Error: Flash download failed - Target DLL cancelled"

Anyone could help? Thanks

  • Buy a PCI card with a parallel port?

  • "you mean the dongle may affect the connection."

I am absolutely certain - I have seen it happen! :-(

If you have a dongle, you must have a full licensed product - so you should speak to Keil support direct about this. You should be able to negotiate a solution.

Meanwhile, you might like to take a look at the section "Dongle and Parallel Port Communication Issues" in Triscend' FastChip software release note:
    ftp.triscend.com/.../release_note.htm
Section (2.4) describes a workaround that I found to work for the E5 and dongled PK51 - it may or may not help you with your PK166...

  • Hi ,

there is no problem to use OCDS with Infineon Starterboard.
I tested with Win2k, WinXP and Win98 and a colleaque under WINNT.
The dongle has no influence (concerning OCDS).
I test the on-board wiggler and directly with ULINK.
First you have to check that JP5 is set to enable the onboard wiggler.
Than you should shut off all other
parallel port drivers , if there any.
It costs me approx. 2 days to find out was happen.
Than you have correct to set the dip switches on board.
    ( Here mainly DIP106 ).
If your debugger settings in µVision are right so no problems should occur.

May be that there are problems under XP - there I test only the ULINK.

Some board was delivered out with unsoldered contacts to JTAG - so check your board concerning this one.
