Hello I have problem with my nucleo. When I try to connect it to the external power support. Then it doesn't work. I mean processor is powered but it look like there is no program. I think there is some problem with debugger.
When I load program from USB evrything seen right. Program is running but if I unplug USB and I connect external power support the program stop working. I also tried to let USB plug and I unconnected power support (by using jumper)and I connect external power support and then everything work just fine. Program was running. (I also tried just program where was just led diod flashing.)
I know it must be working so because I already ones make it work but now there is some problem. Can somebody help me? Do I need to write something more in to the program? So that debugger will not make this problem? Or can somebody tell me how to connect it right? Maybe there exist some schema but I didn't found it.
You might want to update the ST-LINK firmware, there have been several people complaining about the target devices being held in reset.
There are schematics available for the board, and I believe jumpers, and solder bridges, that can be adjusted too. The Nucleo-144 have a specific jumper for external VIN, I have one here with a 7VDC supply

I tried update the ST-LINK firmware and i connect it right I think (to the 5VDC supply) but nothing is happening the same solution an before with USB connect it is running well but if I unplugged it the program stop run. I could send you photos if you would like to know ho I connect it but I think it is ok. I have no idea where could be problem.
You have a jumper on your Nucleo that reads : U5V on the right side and on the left E5V. You need to switch the position of this jumper if you want an external powersurce.
