Cortex-M3 RS232 connexion

I'm using 'LPC1788 Developer's Kit', i can't send data to my PC via RS232 port (URAT1).I tried some examples like Blinky, but nothing appears in my HyperTerminal. What could be the problem ? please help!

  • Bad software.
    Bad hardware.
    Incorrectly assumed baudrate.
    Incorrect/broken cable.
Incorrect configuration of software (what crystal etc)
Incorrect configuration of the board (straps etc)
Software not correctly downloaded into platform.
Wrong RS-232 port used on the board.
Broken serial port on PC, or broken USB-to-serial adapter.
    ...

So what have you done to try to figure out what works and what doesn't work?

  • I have RS232 port on both: board and PC, so there's no USB-to-serial adapter.
    The cable's fine.
    I have one RS232 port.
    My ULINK works fine.
    The board is configurated correctly.
The software is made for this board, so i think it should work correctly without changes.
I don't know what could be wrong because it still no response.

  • Are you using the NXP SPL? Then take a look at this:

Maybe they haven't corrected it yet. I had the same experience: examples would not work on the demo board.

Made me go away from NXP.
