Now if only we could get a PC emulator to run on the Linux (which runs on an ARM emulation) so we can run Windows 3.11 on it.
8052.com have links to a PC emulator using an 8-bit 8051 chip and is used to play older games on.
I too saw it. As ARM core is emulated on AVR micro, it runs at ca. 6.5kHz effective clock frequency. On the other side, I recall seeing UNIX-like OS ported to Z-80 CPU. It was called CROMIX - made by a company named Cromemco some 30+ years ago. As far as I recall, clock was 6MHz and it was a commercial product, although I doubt it had a large customer base... Well, it brings back memories, as Cromemco's System-three was the first computer I played with...
I dont think that Linux will work on 8 bit MCU, but any ways it always depends on which linux you want to run on 8 bit MCU.
