I think you're looking for it in the wrong place. The option to keep preprocessor files is given to the compiler, not the IDE. I.e. you have to specify that option in the IDE project, not from the outside.

Thank you, I am sorry. You will not be able to understand why I need this option until I tell you. I want the preprocessed files for some processing by a certain application. The application takes input as the project (Uv2)file name and then invokes UV2 with -b option and builds it. I thought if there was a option to invoke the UV2 build with the preprocessing option enabled, then it would be helpful.

Exactly - and it is the project (Uv2) file which specifies whether or not the preprocessor files will be generated.
So, when you create the project (Uv2) file you have to create it with the option enabled.

You don't have to - you just have to give them an appropriately-configured project (Uv2) file

Scenario: there is already a project file that some user is using. Now he wants to run my application on the project. But the project file doesn't have the preprocessor option enabled.
How do I check for this/ or How do i enable this option on the command line.

You can't, I'm afraid.
It is part of the project file - the only way to change it is to change the project file

If he wants to run your application on his project then, surely, it is up to him to ensure that his project is compatible with the requirements of your application - viz, that his project enables the preprocessor option?!
Note that there is no reason for him not to do this - it will not affect his project in any way other than that the preprocessor files will be left in the listings folder. I always enable this as a matter of routine anyhow - it doesn't hurt, and you never know when it might come in useful!
If he really won't change his project file, then note that the .uv2 file is just a simple text file - so your application could generate a temporary copy and enable the option in that...
