i would like to ask if I would be able to program an Infineon C161CS microcontroller using RS232? or is the microcontroller IAP capable?
thanks.
Do you have a ROM or Flash device?
The C161CS has a bootstrap loader mode which allows you to download a program into the internal RAM of the device via the ASC0 port. This program could be made to program internal or external memory.
The port pins of the C161CS are by default 5V CMOS compatible levels so you would need level translation from RS232 voltage levels.
thanks for the reply chris.
anyway, this is my current situation.
1. i have a C code, and I use Keil to compile and have a hex file. 2. i use a PSD Soft Express software (with RLINK-ST) to program my C161CS microcontroller.
all is good if i just want to reprogram my microcontroller within the workshop. but what i want to do is to be able to re-program my microcontroller on site.
in summary, i was hoping if you could point me to a direction where to start to be able to achieve my goal.
