hi friends! There are lot of "Universal Programmers" claiming a huge supported device list. I have used Micromaster WinLV48(Discontinued) and PINMaster48. WinLV48 was the best but company discontinued the upgrade support. I need to know which one is the best programmer currently available? My points are given below >Price doesn't matter >Windows 2K and XP support >USB and (Optional) Parallel Interface >Max supported device >Upgrades for Programmer Firmware >Upgrades for IDE >Upgrades for New Devices >Maximum supported Hex File Formates >Hex Editing >Custome Test vectors for LOGIC ICs (i found it in WinLV48). I saw a lot of programmers on the web. Each says a lot about itself. But i need your advice if you have used or know about any good programmer. Thanks in advance! Have a nice day!

we are very happy with the BPmicro programmers we have.
BPmicro support their programmers (expanding the device list) for ages and gives you a two year warning when a model is to be cut off from support.

PS stay away from Zeltek, we bought a programmer directly from Zeltek (to save running to production in the other end of the building for those that programmed a chip a month) and two months later, when asking about support for a new chip was informed that the device we bought was no longer supported.
I prefer to always use LABTOOL48, which I am doing from past 8 years. I like this and it supports most of the IC's.
i like the daterman s4
I have LabTools48 and Dataman S4. Too bad that they stopped selling the S4 a couple of years ago since the replacement product was "almost" ready. Alas, they recently informed that they killed the replacement.
you do not mention the most important qualifier for choosing a programmer: do they supply software upgrades after the product is discuntinued and how long.

i is knowing i missed you and the wisdem of the big high words

This engineering Data I/O model is "the best"

But I doubt if you'll need its capabilities, as most people don't. Its great for the company that does a lot of highly custom and varied work, where you need to be capable of programming almost all devices out there.
The new device algorithms are usually developed as these 'new' devices are being made... good working relationship with IC vendors; I think---so it seems.
So, if price really doesn't matter, go for one.

gee, erik, you're a rock star: it seems you have the fans, the attitude, the fame. question remains: do you have the money :) :) :)
Tamir Michael I just wonder what programmer YOU recommend. That would be far more interesting, not to mention on the subject, that the oddities you post.
you is be teesing us more i be thinking:::::::: but i don not mind because i is be knowing you are mister funny man an is be liking a heavy joke.
the freind shivaram cunchala said s4 and we agree.
yes is your answer and i knowing s4 and looking on web site you is be seeing uperdates for the programmmer.
you is posted video on youtube please yes???? all me and the people want to see sir erac in life!!!!!!
But with the DataMan S4 out of production since several years, it is a bit hard to recommend it to a new customer. You can only find used units, and the S4 has a tendancy to kill its power supply if the accumulators are left for too long without charging.
But with the DataMan S4 out of production since several years if not you will be stuck if you use a modern chip
