ULINK2 problems on a MCB2300

Similar problem to one mentioned by Dejan.... but no solder short that I can see. Here's the problem

I've just got MCB2300 with LPC2378 on it and ULINK2 adapter. When I try to connect to the board, there's a messsage "JTAG communication failure" in the Target Driver Setup window. Also, serial no., ULINK version etc. are all grey. When I disconnect JTAG cable from the MCB2300 at least those come alive, showing ULINK's serial number, version etc.

Any ideas how to bring it to life? I've checked all jumpers and tried to power JTAG drivers from both 3.3V internal and from targer. All the same...

Thanks
Jay

  • Try this two things :
    1) Get the latest update of uV3.04.
    2) Reduce the JTAG speed from the setup to 100Khz
    (Default is 1Mhz).
    3) If you are connecting UART0 to PC make sure the jumpers for Reset through UART0 is removed as the handshake lines will keep your board in reset
