Hi, I have upgraded my PC from WinNT to Win2000. Now my compiler v4.01 doesn't work anymore. Failure message: Missing security device. But the dongle is found by the newer version v7.00 and the chkdongle-tool. Thanks for help

But the dongle is found by the newer version v7.00 and the chkdongle-tool. Since Keil probably does not employ any psychics, I can not see how they could forsee the requirements of win2000 when rel 4 came out before the win version. Erik
"I have upgraded my PC from WinNT ... Now my compiler v4.01 doesn't work anymore." If you really need to keep using such an out-of-date compiler (and you may have a reason), you'd be better off to keep a system with a contemporary out-of-date OS to support it. I still have a PC that can be booted into Win3.10!! Or maybe you should just take this as a warning, and schedule some time to port your project to a current toolset & OS. Note that Win2k is already obsolescent (if not actually obsolete), so there seems little point in spending any time getting it to work on Win2k and then still be out-of-date! If you're going to go through the pain of updating (and it certainly can be a pain), then you might as well bite the bullet and get fully up-to-date.
