out of store while compiling

I got this error while compiling a large file.

Error: C3048U: out of store while compiling with -g. Allocation size was 20770816, system size is 653640852.

Is this due to compiler limitation?
How do you increase the allocation size?

    Before I posted the question, I actually went on that famous web search  B)  to find the solution.
    But, I thought there way a way to increase the allocation size.
