out of store while compiling

Note: This was originally posted on 24th June 2010 at http://forums.arm.com

I got this error while compiling a large file.

Error: C3048U: out of store while compiling with -g. Allocation size was 20770816, system size is 653640852.

Is this due to compiler limitation?
How do you increase the allocation size?

Thanks,
-a

If you use a famous web search engine on "C3048U" you will find this Errors and Warnings page which discusses C3048U and which might help.

    Thanks for the reply.
Before I posted the question, I actually went on that famous web search  B)  to find the solution.
But, I thought there way a way to increase the allocation size.

    Thanks..

I think the allocation size is telling how many bytes armcc was trying to get when it ran out and the system size is how many it has allocated so far -- but the actual details may be different.

I think you need to increase your virtual (or actual) memory somehow.  Or compile without -g or split the file up...
