how to check barnch miss predict

I am doing coding in ARM- NEON Assembly on Cortex-A8 (ARMv7-a) architecture?

How to check that branch miss predict happened to avoid extra cycles?

    Thanks for guiding me.

    Poke the appropriate bit in to the User Enable Register in the kernel, and then PMU counters should be visible in user-space.
    Where should I  enable this register ? In which file of kernel ?
