If you want to know more about DS-5, then please look at ARM DS-5 Development Studio Overview | ARM DS-5 Development Studio    which has a wealth of information about DS-5.

DS-5 is based around the Eclipse IDE and is ARM's end-to-end suite of tools for embedded C/C++ software development on any ARM-based SoC. 

In order to use the NXP i.MX53, you would need DS-5 Professional Edition and a DSTREAM debug and trace unit.
