I am using DS-5 from Altera and also installed latest DS-5 to evaluate armcc toolchain.
Both DS-5s trying to read/write the .ds-5 directory in my home (using Linux).
How can i diverse one of them to use another user directory?
Hi gxk,
If I'm understanding your question correctly - you should just be able to install DS-5 to two different directories in Linux.
Thanks,
Joe
I have to explain better
I have DS-5 as part of Altera SOC installation.
Now i have to install original DS-5 from Arm.
Both installations looking at home directory and setting/creating files at directories .ds-5 and .arm
I would like each of installations use own directory. For example, if there environment variable to define path to those directories?
Thanks for the explanation.
Our engineering team have looked into it and there is no way of doing this with an environment variable or any other means unfortunately.
If you want to evaluate ARM Compiler, you could just generate a 30-day eval license of DS-5 Professional Edition from within your Altera installation by clicking Help > ARM License Manager, Add License > Generate a 30-day evaluation license for DS-5 Professional Edition.
Then, it's just a case of swapping the toolkit over:
DS-5 will then need to restart - enabling all the features of Professional Edition.
