Cortex-A9 revisions

Hi,
I am writing to enquire about Cortex-A9 revisions. I have seen many updates of this core, and I have a question: "Is it possible to know the revision of the Cortex core in a SoC?"
E.g.: I have an ODROID-X2 featuring an Exynos 4412 processor, and I would know which documentations (r2pX, r3pX, or r4pX) are needed. Plus, I would also know which Issue (B or C) of the ARMv7-A is implemented.

    OK. Thank you for your replies. The reason I asked my question on this forum is that the Hardkernel' team has no idea of the revision of the Cortex-A9, and Samsung didn't answer. I will try to discover it with Main ID Register, but what is the encoding? Gives it the revision or the Issue of the Cortex-A9?Finally, what is the difference between the Issues of ARMv7-A (B and C)?Thanks again for your replies.

    If you have the actual device in your hands, there is a Main ID Register that will give that information.

    But if you are waiting to purchase it, as Alban says - the device manufacturer is the way to go.

    As for the differences between rev B and rev C of the ARMv7-AR manual - there are many - again, if you look at the rev C preface material it lists, in overview, the changes on page 2. In summary, it is the Virtualisation Extensions & Large Physical Address Extensions plus clarifications.

    Hi Hugo,
    I am afraid this is more a question for Samsung or for Hardkernel who I believe manufacture the ODROID.
    They are the best placed to know the derivative they used, and if they use multiple versions.
