ARMv8-A instruction set

Hello guys,

ARM ARM documentation (ARMv8-A) describes mostly everything about instructions decoding, but data there are not safe for parsing. So I was wondering if there is a parsable format (JSON, XML, PlainText,...) of ARMv8-A instruction set ?

Hi Mahdi,

Parsable ISA data is available to ARM's licensees through the IP deliverable portal - so if you work for a partner it may be available to you internally. We don't have parsable ISA data available publicly at the mo'.

That's sad, I don't work for a partner (this is for open-source project). So is there any plan for the future to make this data available for developers ?

Do you need more than the encoding/decoding in the GNU assembler and debugger? There's also QEMU which can do a good job of emulating the architecture.

Checking internally, it is planned that the XML will made available online but we don't have a date for this.

Nice to hear that. BTW, I was able to parse the AArch64 instructions, and stored data in JSON file (here). Also there is a version for AArch32 too (made by another developer) but there is some missing instruction and many buggy instructions. We was thinking to merge the two architecture but still there is a lot of drawback (AArch64,AArch32). If ARM releases an XML that would help a lot.
