Hello.
I've been experimenting with AVR alot for 2 years. But I also got a bit of taste ARM, but not alot.
What board should I start for developing? I want a cheap and a small one. Also I don't want one that needs a programmer like avr's do.
Thanks for the help!
Hi mrburnzie,
These are the cheapest ARM (Cortex-M) starter boards that I know:
STMicroelectronics
STM32 MCU Nucleo
Suggested resale price for the low-end Nucleo-32/Nucleo-64 = US$ 10.12 and US$ 12.74. The Nucleo-32 has the smallest form factor.
Texas Instruments
Price = $12.99
NXP Semiconductors
OM13055: LPCXpresso812-MAX Board for LPC81x family MCUs / LPC800 / LPC812 MAX Board
Price = 15€
These boards have integrated programmer/debugger. If you are already comfortable with software tools from Atmel you can also search their site if they have a comparably priced starter boards.
Regards,
Goodwin
I forgot the (Freescale) Kinetis product line from NXP. Some of Freedom Development Boards are priced at US$15.00.
Kinetis E series MCUs
Kinetis L series MCUs
Thanks for the information!
